Vintage 1970s Harry Balmer Laurel Sculptural MCM Metal Lamp Base Brutalist Mid Century Modern

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice vintage torch cut metal sculptural brutalist table lamp base designed by Harry Balmer for the Laurel Lamp Co. Circa '70s. Materials: Metal, Steel. Unsigned insofar as we've been able to detect. It is quite heavy (13.8 pounds) and solid!

Measurements: Including the black metal base, it measures approx. 31" tall. The black metal base measures approx. 5" x 5" x 6" tall. The metal sculptural component measures approx. 25" tall.

Condition: Good vintage condition - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There is some mild superficial surface rust in a few spots that should clean off easily (see photos) - we just decided to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. This base was apparently used by its former owner just as a sculpture since all of the electrical hardware is gone. If so inclined, it is easy to replace and re-install. There is a hole at the bottom of the back of the base to thread electrical wiring through (see photo). If we were to keep it, we'd probably just enjoy it as a sculpture. It is ready for a new home.
