Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing and rare Pierre Cardin for P. Kaufman mod fabric panel that was made into a large curtain. Circa '60s. We are not 100% of the type of material, but we'd say it's a medium-to-heavy weight cotton to the touch, and does not feel sythetic / stretchy. It is not lined along the back side. The fabric consists of two (2) large pieces of material carefully sewn together at the center point. Along the selvedge up the center, it reads: Tissu Environment Pierre Cardin - Exclusive P. Kaufman Inc. (see photo).
PLEASE NOTE: We have another curtain with the same pattern / dimensions that we are going to be listing separately. It has some minor condition issues which we will mention in that listing, and we'll also provide separate photos. If you're interested in both, we can combine shipping, etc. - just let us know.
Measurements: This curtain consists of two large panels that are carefully sewn together at the center point. When fully open, the together the two panels measure approx. 100" wide (measured along the bottom edge) x 60" wide (measured across the top edge). The fabric is 80" long. There are a total of ten (10) pinch pleats. When flipped over to the reverse side, it appears that there were originally fourteen pinch pleats, so two from each side were released at one point in time. There is a 1" hem along the bottom, and a 1.5" hem along each of the sides. The two panels are connected at the 50" mark (again, measured from the bottom).
Condition: The fabric is pre-owned. It is physically in very good condition - there are no rips, holes, tears, repairs, etc. There are a few tiny scattered spots, but nothing that we'd consider at deal-breaker. The curtains do have a faint smoke odor to them as the previous owner may have been a smoker. If we were to keep the fabric, we'd most certainly have it professionally laundered to get rid of the odor. Aside from that, the colors are nice, and the design is certainly very mod! It'd be wonderful to use as curtains, or if you wanted to release the pleats, perhaps make a wall hanging tapestry out of it. Either way, there's a lot of material to work with here! It's ready for a new home! Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, please ask them prior to purchase and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. Thanks for looking, and please be sure to check our other listings presently active on Etsy!
