Vintage 60s Spun Acrylic Spaghetti Shade Ceramic Inserts Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Atomic Era

$825.00

Shipping to United States: $1.00

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing vintage floor lamp. Circa '60s. The lamp features three (3) round acrylic shades - each a different color (one white, one orange, and one green). Below that there are three ceramic inserts - two a soft green, and one blue. Judging from the two recessed areas on the front side of each insert, we are guessing these were actually meant to be ashtrays. These inserts each rest in a cut out metal support midway up the lamp (see photos). Just below is an inline on/off rotary knob switch which gives the lamp three-way functionality: either one shade can light up with a turn of the knob, or another turn lights up the other two, and finally a third click will light up all three sockets at once. We are uncertain of the maker, but its definitely a nice quality, funky lamp that'll be sure to spark conversation where it ends up!

NOTE: Additional photos can be made available upon request.

Measurements: This lamp is very large. With the shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 65.25" tall x 23" wide x 23" deep. Each of the three shades measures approx. 6.25" tall x 7" round. Each of the three ceramic inserts measures approx. 8.75" wide x 5.5" deep x 4" tall. The round base at the very bottom measures approx. 12" in diameter.

Condition: Overall the lamp is in good condition for its age. It does have some minor cosmetic issues which we will discuss here. First, the three ceramic inserts each show a little bit of wear. It is mainly along the edges where it comes into contact with the metal ledges that they sit inside of. It is mainly color loss, and isn't really seen when the ceramic inserts are in place. One of the green inserts has a small chip on one of the front ledges (see photo). We believe these inserts were originally intended to be ashtrays; although, when we purchase this lamp, the previous owners had faux plants in them instead, which actually looked really cool! The shades are all free from damage - they're in excellent shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, burnt or melted areas, etc. The round brass base at the bottom of the lamp shows some signs of discoloration / tarnishing in spots - we have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner - we figured we'd just leave that up to the next owners to handle. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence. Thanks for looking, and please be sure to check out our other active listings presently for sale on eBay!

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping is NOT $1 as stated in the listing. This lamp is very large, and we'd prefer a local pick-up. If you live outside of the St. Louis area, and would like the lamp shipped, we have no problem safely packaging the lamp, but be warned - due to the size, it is going to be expensive. The base can be separated mid-way up the stem, and the shades and inserts will have to ship inside of their own box - please inquire before purchasing - thanks!
