Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing, and never before seen to us, vintage table lamp manufactured by Plasto Mfg. Co. Circa '50s / '60s. The lamp base is constructed of plaster, and it has a metallic looking finish to it. The style of it looks rather brutalist to us. The shade is fiberglass, and it is beige in color with randomly scattered black and gold paint designs throughout. In the center of the base you will find a small atomic nightlight. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket, and it allows for 3-way functionality of the lamp. With one twist of the knob, just the small nightlight can light up. Another twist shuts that one off, and allows for the main socket to be lit. And finally a third turn of the knob allows for both to be lit at the same time. The lamp is signed at the bottom of the base on the back side adjacent to where the electrical cord comes out of the base. It'll make a super addition to any modern interior setting!
PLEASE NOTE: Don't pay attention to any glare in the photos - it's our camera.
Measurements: The lamp stands approx. 34.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top rim of the shade). The plaster base itself measures approx. 18.5" tall x 10.5" wide x 3.5" deep. The round base at the bottom measures approx. 6.75" in diameter. The fiberglass shade measures approx. 16" tall, with the top being approx. 12" in diameter, and bottom being approx. 16" in diameter.
Condition: Overall, the lamp is in very good condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There are a few tiny old nicks to the paint along the bottom edge of the base, but they're nothing that interferes with the display of the lamp. The fiberglass shade is in good shape, but not perfect - while there are no rips, holes, tears, repairs, burn marks, etc., there are some moisture marks on the fiberglass. We have not attempted to clean the shade in any manner, so we are uncertain as to whether or not they'll come out (see photos). The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
