Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a great vintage atomic era floor lamp that was designed by Modeline of California. Materials: Wood, Metal. The shade is fiberglass, and is double-tiered; it rests atop a milk glass diffuser. The lamp still retains much of its original UL label located on the brass socket cup (see photo). It has a standard on/off rotary knob switch which is used to turn the lamp on and off.
Measurements: With the double-tiered fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 59" tall. The distance from the ground to the light socket is approx. 52" high. Each of the wood legs measures approx. 31.5" tall. Measured at ground level, the distance between each of the legs is approx. 14.5". The double tiered fiberglass shade measures approx. 11.5" tall, with the upper, small tier measuring approx. 16" in diameter, and the larger, lower tier measuring approx. 19" in diameter.
Condition: The lamp base is in very good condition with no issues to report - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is in great shape - there are no rips, holes, tears, stains, repairs, creases, burn marks, etc. The lacing appears to be original, and it is in good shape. The electrical wiring is in very good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamp is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
PLEASE NOTE: SHIPPING IS NOT $1 (AS STATED IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION)
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: This lamp is large, and we'd prefer local pick-up. Alternately, if you live within 50 miles of St. Louis we can arrange a door-to-door, curbside delivery for a small fee. We are not objectionable to shipping; however, note beforehand that it will be rather expensive due to the overall size of the lamp, and it would require two separate parcels - one for the shade, and one for the base.
1-3 business days
I'll do my best to meet these shipping estimates, but can't guarantee them. Actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method you choose.
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
We will gladly "reserve" or "hold" an item, but it will require a 25% non-refundable down payment. Balance due will be spread out over installment payments, one being due two weeks after the initial down-payment, and the final payment (which will include the listed shipping expenses) will be due two weeks after that.
