Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage wall mounted atomic era adjustable sconce. Circa '50s / '60s. Materials: Metal and Wood. Color: Gold. The fixture has a rotary knob switch located on the circular metal wall plate. Takes a standard size light bulb. There is a UL sticker label located next to the light socket on the interior of the shade (see photo) - aside from a series of numbers, we cannot make out anything else informational on it. We are uncertain as to the manufacturer.
Measurements: The shade measures approx. 9" long (measured from the top front to the top back on the wooden accent knob). The opening is approx. 4.5" wide x 4.5" tall. The wooden accent piece on the top of the shade measures approx. 2.5" long. The round metal wall plate measures approx. 6.5" in diameter.
Condition: The fixture is in okay condition. It does have some cosmetic stuff that we'll mention now. First off, the metal is somewhat dull and it has wear throughout. By wear, we're talking light tarnishing. It isn't too noticeable, especially from afar. We have not attempted to clean or polish the shade or wooden accent piece in any manner. If one were to have it re-plated or painted, it wouldn't be noticeable at all. Aside from that, the shade itself is in good shape - no dents, dings, repairs, etc. The wall plate has one small shallow dent located along the bottom right edge which can be seen in the photos that are attached. Lastly, there are a few tiny white paint specks on the metal, most likely when a previous owner painted near or around the fixture. They should come off quite easily. The electrical wiring appears to be original and there are no issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The fixture is in working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the fixture prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold in "as-is", "as-described" condition. If you have questions, please let us know and we'll be happy to answer them in a timely manner.
