Vintage 1950s Freeform Amoeba Biomorphic Gooseneck Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Googie Era

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare and unusual vintage table lamp with accompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. The base is made of a ceramic material, and it has a very cool textured amoeba-shaped design on both the front and back sides. Colors: Yellow and Green. The front side of the lamp features flexible / adjustable metal gooseneck stalk that allows the shade to pivot in various directions, which overall allows the lamp to take on different configurations. The shade is a beige fiberglass with random reddish paint squiggles throughout. We are uncertain as to the maker - no visible maker's marks or signatures present.

Measurements: With the shade attached in the upright position, the lamp stands approx. 29.25" tall. The base alone measures 13" tall x 9" wide (maximum width towards the bottom) x 8" deep (maximum depth towards the bottom). The flexible gooseneck stalk measures approx. 9.5" tall. The fiberglass shade is approx. 15" tall, with the top opening being 11.25" wide x 8" deep. The bottom opening measures approx. 15" wide x 11.25" deep.

Condition: The lamp is in excellent vintage condition - the base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. It could use a gentle cleaning, but looks great as it is. The fiberglass shade is in great shape as well - no dents, dings, punctures, creases, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks to be original and is intact, but keep in mind it is old. In our opinion, it could benefit from being re-laced, but we chose to leave it as it was acquired. The electrical wiring is in good shape - it's free from frays, splits, exposed / brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, the lamp should be inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use.
