Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a set of framed vintage hand-painted ceramic tile wall hanging plaques. Circa '50s / '60s. Theme: Minstrels with Lutes or Harlequins. Each wall hanging consists of ten (10) ceramic tiles that make up the complete image (see photos). They are both signed "Smitty" (again, see photos). The both have a wire hanging mechanism attached to the back side of the frame for hanging. They'll make a really cool addition to any retro or kitsch-themed interior setting!
Measurements: Each measures approx. 25" tall x 11.5" wide. Each of individual tiles measures approx. 4.25" wide x 4.25" tall. Each plaque weighs approx. 6.3 lbs.
Condition: Both plaques are in good condition - the ceramic is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The colors are nice on each as well. The wood frames are structurally solid, but they do show some blemishes here and there. On the corner of one of the frames, there appears to be some green discoloration - we're not sure if it is paint, but it looks like it is. It should clean up with relative ease. Aside from that, they just show light traces of wear that are consistent with age and handling. They could both benefit from a gentle cleaning. Being sold "as-is" - we encourage any questions that you may have prior to purchase, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
