Unusual Vintage 1950s Majestic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Lighting

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an unusual V-shaped Majestic table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. The base is constructed of wood and has two brass connecting tubes. The wood is two toned - the upright pieces are a lighter wood, while the base is a black lacquer. The fiberglass shade is also two tone - the front and half of the sides are a green color, while the back and other half of the side are black (see photos). The lamp has two sockets which can be operated independently of each other; there is a separate toggle switch located at each of the sockets. The lamp still retains its original green felt on the underside of the base; however, it has been covered over by another piece of newer black felt by a previous owner. It's a great lamp, fully functional, and it'll look swell in any mid century modern interior setting!

Measurements: With the shade attached, the lamp stands at a maximum height of 30.5" tall x 27" wide x 11" deep. The shade alone measures approx. 27" wide x 11" deep x 12" tall. The distance from the bottom of the base to each of the two light sockets is approx. 23" high. The black wood base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11" wide x 5.5" deep x 2" tall. The distance between the two light sockets is approx. 12".

Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. Both the shade and base show minimal traces of light wear that are commensurate with age and use. The base itself is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The two arched brass tubes that connect between the lighter wood pieces are in very nice shape - they show a gentle patina - no rust, oxidations, dents, dings, etc. The fiberglass shade has a few spots where there is some lacing missing, but the holes are still intact. Even with these few spots of missing lace, the shade is structurally sound and together - for this reason, we never bothered to replace the lacing, but we'll leave that up to the new owner to decide on. Otherwise, the shade is free from rips, holes, tears, stains, etc. It is a little dusty in the inside, so it could benefit from a gentle cleaning. The electrical wiring and sockets are free from having any problems - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. Before long-term use, we only strongly recommend having a licensed professional check the wiring for any problems. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. The lamp is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we encourage you to ask them prior to purchase, and we usually can respond back to you within a short amount of time.

PLEASE NOTE: This lamp is very large, hence the shipping rate. It will have to be packaged in shipped in two separate parcels - one will contain the large shade, and the other will contain the base.
