Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a wonderful vintage ceramic pottery table lamp that was manufactured by Tye of California (USA). Circa '50s. The pottery portion of the lamp is structured in such a way that it is ribbed, with the white vertical lines being slightly raised. There is a gold and dark turquoise paint splatter randomly applied over the entire surface of the lamp (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. The lamp also still retains the original Tye Label located at the light socket (see photo). The lamp is signed and dated (1955) towards the bottom of the base at the back side where the electrical cord emerges. There is no shade present - that'll be left up to the purchaser to provide on their own. It's a great lamp that'll be suitable for any modern interior setting!
Measurements: The lamp stands a total of approx. 31.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the round brass disc base to the top of the harp). The distance from the bottom of the disc base to the light socket is approx. 24" high. The pottery portion of the lamp measures approx. 222" tall x 7" wide x 7" deep.
Condition: Very good condition. The pottery portion of the lamp is in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There are a few tiny spots where there is color loss (see photos) - it's very minor, and can be touched up quite easily. We just chose to leave it as it was acquired. We have not attempted to clean the lamp in any manner as it is already very clean - we are presenting it for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and is in very good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamp is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
