Vintage 1960s Cork Brass Atomic Era Table Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting MCM

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool large vintage atomic era bulbous cork and brass table lamp. Circa '60s. The cork is brown. There are two atomic-themed brass metal zig-zag accents along the outer surface of the lamp (see photos). The lamp shade is a nubby cloth textile material that is original to the lamp - it is a beige color with hints of brown throughout. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. We are uncertain as to the maker of the lamp - no tags or labels present. It'll make a great addition to any retro-themed interior setting!

Measurements: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 33" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the shade) x 18.5" wide x 18.5" deep. The distance from the resting surface to the light socket is approx. 24" high. The round metal base at the bottom measures approx. 5.75" in diameter. The cork portion of the lamp measures approx. 18" tall x 7" wide (at its widest point at the bulbous section) x 7" deep (at its deepest point at the bulbous section). The shade measures approx. 13.25" tall x 17.5" in diameter (top opening) x 18.5" in diameter (bottom opening).

Condition: Overall the lamp is in good condition, but does have some minor cosmetic flaws that are worth mentioning. First off, there is a small amount of wear along the top edge surface to the cork - it's not major, but worth noting (see photo). Next, the lamp appears to have been in an area where a previous owner may have done some painting as there appears to be some tiny white dots on the cork. This can easily be touched up or just left alone - we chose to leave it as it was acquired. As far as the brass metal base goes at the very bottom of the lamp, there is tarnishing along the bottom (again, see photos) - most likely came into contact with moisture at one point or another. The shade is in nice shape. The interior has some old moisture spotting, but nothing all that bad (see photo). The milk glass diffuser that the shade rests inside of is in good shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp - there are no frays, splits or exposed / brittle wires. Aside from that, it is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the fixture prior to long-term use.
