Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a very large GUGGENHEIM floor lamp. Circa '50s. The lamp has eight (8) pierced metal conical shades that are able to rotate left and right at their connection point. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch which provides for three-way functionality: one turn allows every other socket to light up, and second turn allows the remaining alternating sockets to light up independent of the first set, and a third twist allows all eight sockets to light up at once. The manufacturer is Guggenheim (see attached catalog page which features the lamp). The round base at the bottom of the lamp is weighted. It's a very heavy lamp. It'll look great in any mid century modern or atomic themed setting!
Measurements: The lamp stands approx. 58" tall x 33" wide (measured at the shades) x 33" deep (again, measured at the shades). Each of the eight (8) conical pierced metal shades measures approx. 9" x 4" (at the opening). The round metal weighted base at the bottom measures approx. 14" in diameter.
Condition: All-in-all, we'd say the lamp is in good condition for its age - there do not appear to be any dents, dings, etc. The metal looks as though it may have been repainted at one point in time. It displays fine as it is, but if we were to keep it, we might consider giving it a fresh coat of paint. The electrical wiring was shot when we acquired the lamp, so it has been professionally rewired by an electrician, so there are no problems there. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting and electronics, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect prior to long-term use. Displays very well! Being sold "as-is" - if you have any questions, we encourage you to ask them prior to purchasing the items, and we will happily respond back to you in a timely manner.
PLEASE NOTE: SHIPPING IS NOT $1. Due to the size of this lamp, it is for local pick-up only. Alternately, if you wish to arrange for a freight company to pick up the lamp from us, we'll be more than happy to help coordinate the process. Lastly, if you are within 100 miles of Downtown St. Louis, we can arrange a door-to-door delivery for a fee.
Thanks for looking!
