Pair Vintage 50s / 60s Atomic Wood Brass Lamps Mid Century Modern MCM Lighting

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an AMAZING set of vintage atomic era table lamps. Circa '50s / '60s. They look like rocket ships getting ready to take flight! Materials: Wood, Brass, Metal. Colors: Red, Gold. Each lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. We are uncertain as to the maker - no labels or tags present. Each lamp is weighted in the base. No shades are present - those will be left up to the purchaser to provide on their own.

Measurements: Each lamp measures approx. 31" tall (measured from the bottom of the round wooden base to the top of the finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 22.5" high. The red wood accent that is nestled within the four brass tubes that are attached to the round base measures 13" tall x 3.5" wide x 3.5" deep. The round wooden base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 7.5" in diameter.

Condition: Both lamps are in good condition, but they do exhibit some cosmetic stuff that we'll mention here. With a minimal amount of effort and some tlc, this babies will clean up nicely. First off, there are several small spots on each of the lamps where there is a little bit of color loss (see photos). We are uncertain as to whether or not these lamps may have been repainted at one point in time. At first we definitely thought so, but upon closer inspection there does not appear to be any other colors showing through where the paint has chipped (again, see photos). In our opinion, we love that color that they are - it displays well. Next, on one of the round lamp bases, there are some light scratch marks where they cylindrical brass rods came into contact with the wood (see photos). On that same lamp, it looks like two of the rods have lifted a little from the wood, and could use some repositioning. It doesn't particularly affect anything, but we are calling attention to it for accuracy. One of the brass rods shows a little bit of tarnishing at the very end (again, see photos). The seams also show a bit on both lamps - again, doesn't affect anything as they are structurally solid and holding their place just fine. We have not done anything in attempt to clean / polish these lamps - they are being presented for sale in the exact condition in which they were acquired. The electrical wiring looks to be original on both lamps, and it is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamps are in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
