Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage wall hanging pendulum clock that was designed by George Nelson for Howard Miller. Circa '70s. Materials: Brass, Metal, Lucite, Glass. The clock is designed to chime on the half-hour, as well as on the hour. It still retains its original Howard Miller label on the front face (see photos), and it also comes with its original key. It'll make a great addition to any modern interior space.
NOTE: Additional photos can be made available upon request - just message us.
Measurements: The round clock face is approx. 15" in diameter. The lucite box on the back side of the clock face measures approx. 4.5" deep x 7.25" wide x 6.5" tall. The two cylinder weights each measure approx. 9.25" long x 2" in diameter. The pendulum swing arm measures approx. 31.25" in length. PLEASE NOTE: These are the measurements for each of the individual components without the clock being set up.
Condition: While not in perfect cosmetic condition, we'd say it is in good condition given its age. We will address the cosmetic issues here, most of which can be remedied with a little time and patience. First off, the brass weights show some signs of wear - they have some color loss, superficial scratches, etc. (see photos). The top and bottom caps to the weights show some shallow dents and dings which can probably be worked out. We were told the metal encasements for the weights could be re-plated which would make them look better - we just left them as-is. Next, there is a very shallow dent along the bottom edge of the clock face at about the 7 o'clock position (see photo). It is barely visible, but it is there and we are making mention of it for accuracy. The pendulum shows a little color loss on the brass disc at the bottom, and the ornate piece just above has a slight bend (see photo) - the metal is pliable and can be worked out - we left it alone. Lastly the wire cord on the left side needs to be released in order to come down a little for the weight to be re-attached for hanging. The clock is great - it runs and keeps accurate time. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we courage them prior to purchase - thank you!
