Rare Vintage Abstract Witco Sculptural Steel Wood Wall Hanging Mid Century MCM Wilrongo 60s 70s

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a wonderful vintage sculptural Witco / Wilrongo wall hanging. Circa '70s. Materials: Steel, Wood. Theme: Two dancing figures under the sun. This piece has a very unique dimensional appearance due to the two spacers that allow the dancing figures to stand out from the carved wood backboard that they are attached to. We did not find any signatures, but rest assured, it's the real deal! It'll look great in any modern interior setting!

NOTE: Another online dealer claims this piece was actually done by Jacquie Pepper for Peter Pepper Products (1959), but they've been unable to provide any proof of such a claim, and upon doing our own research, nothing comes up indicating such.

Measurements: The two dancing figures measure approx. 29" wide x 18" tall x 7.25" deep (maximum variable depth). The carved wood backboard that they are mounted to measures approx. 40.5" wide x 12" tall x 1.5" thick. The two figures are separated from the wood board by two (2) 2" metal spacers (see photo). The sun in the upper right corner measures approx. 4" in diameter.

Condition: Very good condition. Only the slightest traces of mild wear that come with age and handling. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, bends, scratches, repairs, etc. We have not attempted to clean or polish this piece in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. Has two metal hanging tabs on the reverse side for display purposes.
