ITEM(S): For your consideration we are presenting for sale a pair of vintage moon-shaped plaster table lamps with their original fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. Materials: Plaster, Paint. The lamps are a tan color with random brown and beige paint splatter designs on the surface. Each lamp has three sockets - the uppermost main socket, and then two smaller decorative bulb sockets. The lamps come with standard on/off rotary knob switches which allow for three way functionality: one twist allows just the main socket to work, and second twist allows just the smaller decorative sockets to illuminate, and a third twist allows all of the sockets to function at the same time. The lamps do not appear to be branded - we are uncertain as to the manufacturer of these beauties. The fiberglass shades are beige in color, with random gold filaments scattered throughout. These shades are original to the bases, and they are intentionally designed to not have fiberglass around the upper tier that has three bands of wire. They're a great set of lamps that are suitable for any interior setting.
MEAUREMENTS: Each lamps stands approx. 32.25" tall (measured from the bottom of the rounded bases to the uppermost part of the shade). The distance from the bottom of the bases to the main light sockets is approx. 23.25" high. The plaster lamp portion measures approx. 18.25" tall x 10" wide. The round base at the very bottom of each lamp is approx. 6" in diameter. The fiberglass shades are each approx. 10" tall. The upper wire tier is approx. 15.25" in diameter x 2" tall. The lower fiberglass tier is approx. 19" in diameter x 8" tall.
CONDITION: Both lamps are in very good cosmetic condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. to the plaster. The only problem is with one of the lamps - one of the small decorative bulb sockets is shot. The encasement has a small chip on it (see photo), and the inside of the socket is gone (no threading). There is a small screw on the inside, so it can probably be replaced by someone who knows what they're doing, but we didn't attempt it - we just figure let the new purchaser handle this. With that exception, all of the other sockets work perfectly - the lamps are in working condition. The fiberglass shades are in nice condition. There are no rips, holes, tears, stains, etc. The lacing is intact. On one of the shades, it looks like the upper ring of lacing is original, while the rest has been replaced. If interested, we'd be more than happy to replace this old lacing with new material that matches the color of the other three rings of lacing - just let us know. We always strongly urge having a licensed professional inspect the electrical wiring prior to longterm use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is, and as-described". If you have any questions, we encourage them and will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final.
PLEASE NOTE: These lamps are large and fragile. They will ship in two separate boxes - one will contain the shades, while the other will contain the bases. Everything will be packaged with the utmost care in order that they arrive safely to their destination. Local pick-up is also welcome if you wish to save on the shipping - just let us know.
