Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a neat vintage hanging lamp / table lamp from the 1950s. The lamp can either hang by the round brass loop at the very top, or it can just stand stationary on it's tripod legs. The lamp has a round planter insert at the bottom for a live or faux plant (see photos). The purchaser will have to supply their own round planter insert as their currently isn't one in place. The lamp framework is constructed of metal, and the top and bottom has a wire mesh lattice, behind which at both top and bottom is a gold colored paneling (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the back of the top lattice section. We are uncertain as to the maker - it does not have any labels or appear to be signed in any way.
Measurements: Approx. 22.5" tall (measured to the top of the brass ring) x 6" wide x 6" deep.
Condition: Good vintage condition with minimal wear that comes with age and handling. The metal body framework of the lamp is good - there are no dents, dings, repairs, etc. The round brass top shows signs of patination which comes with age - no rust, oxidation, etc. We didn't attempt to clean or polish it - it is being presented in the condition in which it was acquired. The round glass shade disc could benefit from a cleaning as there is currently a white film on it (see photos). The wrap around gold shade paneling has a few small nicks in it around the upper edge of the lower planter space (see photos) - they aren't all that bad, but they are being mentioned for accuracy. This paneling can easily be replaced, if desired - again, we just left it as it was acquired as it isn't bad and it is original to the lamp. The electrical wiring looks as though it is original to the lamp, and it's in good shape - there are no splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
