ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an outstanding vintage abstract / cubist figural sculpture depicting "Mother and Child". Circa '50s. We are not certain of what kind of material this is, but it is very, very heavy. It has a terracotta coloration, but we think it is probably done in plaster or some sort of plaster combination. It is signed and dated on the bottom of the base: Ivan, Nov. 1954 (see photos). It will look fantastic in any modern interior setting.
MEASUREMENTS: The sculpture measures approx. 14.25 tall x 17.5" wide x 14.25" deep. We do not know the exact weight - if we were to guess, we'd say it is somewhere in the 60 - 70 lb. range, give or take.
CONDITION: Very good condition. There is some light surface wear in areas, but nothing objectionable given its age (please zoom in on photos). There are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. We have not done anything in an attempt to clean the sculpture - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
PLEASE NOTE: This sculpture is sizable and HEAVY. We'd prefer a local pick-up, but we are not objectionable to shipping, but buyer must be aware it will have to be professionally packaged for shipping, and the buyer will absorb that cost. Alternately, we can do a door-to-door local delivery within 50 miles on Downtown St. Louis for a nominal fee.
