Vintage 50s Atomic Era Pottery Lamp Mid Century MCM Modern Lighting Pink Brown White

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage ceramic pottery table lamp with accompanying woven shade. Circa '50s. The base is ceramic, and it is a pinkish / mauve color. It has curvy brown lines painted on the surface, as well as raised white atomic-like graphics throughout (see photos). The round shade is a woven grasscloth like material. We are uncertain if the shade is actually original to the lamp or not - it is how we acquired it. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. We were unable to find any labels or tags, so we're uncertain as to who manufactured or designed the lamp. It's a great lamp that is suitable for any modern interior setting.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 29" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the shade). The shade measures approx. 13.5" in diameter x 12" tall. The base measures approx. 19.5" tall (measured from the resting surface to the light socket) x 9" wide (at its widest point) x 9" deep (at its deepest point). The bottom of the base measures approx. 6.25" in diameter.

CONDITION: Very good, all original condition. The ceramic portion of the base is in excellent shape - it is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It could benefit from a gentle cleaning, but does nicely just as it is. The shade has some visible surface wear (see photos) - there is a small section where the woven material has worn away, and there is also a small hidden puncture mark towards the bottom edge (see photos for exterior and interior shot of the puncture). In our own personal opinion, we think the lamp would look even better than it already does with a period fiberglass shade, but that's just us. The electrical wiring looks to be original, and it is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamps are being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
