ITEM: They don't get any better than this! For your consideration we are presenting for sale a pretty rare and seldom seen vintage atomic era table lamp with accompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. The lamp base is ceramic, and it rests atop a metal tripod base which forms the legs of the lamp. The ceramic is textured in design (see photos). The front side features an atomic design (see photos). The ceramic is a faint green color with black and gold accents (again, please see photos). The fiberglass shade is shaped like a top hat in design, and is beige in color. The lamp functions with an on/off toggle switch that is located at the socket. It's a wonderful example of period lighting - don't let it slip away! It is suitable for any interior setting.
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 21" tall (measured from the bottom of the legs to the top of the finial) x 10" wide x 10" deep. The distance from the bottom of the legs to the light socket is approx. 12.25" high. The ceramic portion of the base measures approx. 6" tall x 6" wide x 3" deep. The fiberglass shade measures approx. 11.25" tall. The top square opening of the shade is approx. 8" x 8". The bottom square opening of the shade measures approx. 10" x 10". Each of the legs is approx. 6" apart.
CONDITION: All-in-all, the lamp is in very good condition for its age. The ceramic portion of the base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It's in excellent shape! There is some minor black color loss on the legs, but it's nothing major at all. The legs are free from rust, oxidation, bends, dents, dings, etc. The fiberglass shade has one broken lace, but the hole is still intact, so it can be re-laced, if one chose to do so. It is structurally solid despite the break in the lacing, and if it were us, we'd just leave it as it is. The shade is free from holes, rips, tears, stains, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring is original and appears to be in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or hard areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always encourage having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. It is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we encourage you to ask them prior to purchase, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. Thanks for looking!
