ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an incredible vintage space age table lamp. Circa late '60s / early '70s. There are twelve (12) vertical radiating arms, and each has a chrome cylinder with two light sockets on either end - one at the top, and the other at the bottom (see photos) - thus the lamp has twenty (24) lights in total. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located on base, and it allows the lamp three-way functionality: one twist allows the sockets on every other cylinder to light up. A second twist allows the alternating sockets to light up independent on the first. A third and final twist allows all twenty-four (24) sockets to light up at the same time. The lamp does not have any tags or labels present, but it looks like Gaetano Sciolari to us!
NOTE: Bulbs not included - they are old and will need to be replaced.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 30.5" tall x 19" wide x 19" deep. The twelve (12) radiating arms from the central disc towards the top alternate in length, the longer being approx. 6", and the shorter being approx. 4". The alternating cylinders that lead up / down to the light bulbs measure approx. 13" (longer) and 10" shorter. The round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11" in diameter.
CONDITION: Very good condition. Light wear consistent with age and handling, but nothing objectionable at all. The chrome is free from dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. The lamp was filthy from age when we got it, so we gave it a good once over, and we've gotta say - it looks great! The electrical wiring is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc, and it looks to be original to the lamp. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
