Pair Vintage 1950s Acrylic Lucite Lamps Mid Century MCM Modern Lighting Moss

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic pair of vintage table lamps that date back to the 1950s. They are done in the style of Moss lamps, but we're uncertain as to who the actual manufacturer is. Each base is consists of a planter box constructed of white lucite, and on the front is a slightly raised from the surface a shimmering gold letter "S" (see photos). Just below the socket, is a white lucite diamond shape accent piece, through which two clear acrylic rods descend into the planter box. The rods are slightly different sizes, and each is capped off at the top with a gold atomic ball (see photos). The lamps each operate with a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. No shades present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own. It's a great set that'll make a wonderful addition to any interior setting.

MEAUREMENTS: Each lamp stands approx. 33" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finials), and 20" tall (measured from the bottom of the round metal base to the top of the light socket x 7" wide (the width of the white acrylic diamond accent just below the light socket) x 7" deep (measured at the bottom of the round metal base). The built-in white acrylic planter boxes are approx. 5.75" tall x 3.25" wide x 2.75" deep. The clear acrylic rods that go through the white diamond accent piece are slightly different lengths by design, the longer being approx. 1" longer. The round brass metal base is approx. 7" in diameter. The finials, while slightly different shapes, each measure approx. 5" tall.

CONDITION: Both lamps are in very good condition for their age - the acrylic / lucite is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It could just use a gentle cleaning. The round metal bases are slightly different colors from age - one is more bronze, while the other is more gold (see photos). We have not attempted to clean or polish them in any manner - they are being presented exactly as they were acquired. A little clean up and they'll look better than they already do! The electrical wiring appears to be original to both lamps, and is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas to the wiring. The lamps are in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly encourage having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
