ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage leaping gazelle lamp. While it has more of a deco vibe in appearance, we believe these lamps were actually produced during the '50s. The lamp features a leaping gazelle in black metal on one side, and it is facing a tall cylindrical diffuser shade on the other. The inside material of the shade is fiberglass, while the exterior is black metal mesh. The base at the bottom of the lamp is football-shaped, and it is constructed of brass. The lamp features an on/off rotary knob switch at the base of the shade on the reverse side (see photo). We are uncertain as to the manufacturer of the lamp - there are no tags or labels indicated such. It's a great lamp both in design and size, and it'll make a welcome addition to any interior setting.
MEAUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 12" tall (measure from the bottom of the base to the top of the cylindrical diffuser shade) x 8.5" wide (measured at the base) x 4.5" deep. The gazelle measures approx. 5.5" tall x 6" long. The cylindrical shade measures approx. 10" tall x 3" in diameter. The metal football-shaped base measures approx. 8.5" wide x 4.5" deep.
CONDITION: For its age, the lamp is in very good condition. There are a few very small tarnish marks on the base, but nothing of major significance. There are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. The fiberglass material on the inside of the shade is free from rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. The electrical wiring is original to the lamp, and appears to be in great shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly encourage having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. This item is being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions that we did not already cover, please contact us directly and we'll be more than happy to get back to you.
