ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool pair of abstract vintage table lamps manufactured by the Aladdin Lamp Co. Circa '50s. They kind of remind us the '80s Pac-Man sensation that swept the nation. Materials: The base is contructed primarily of ceramic, and there is a red wooden ball that is pierced by the brass vertical stem running through the lamp base, which allows it to be nestled with the ceramic design, and it gives it a floating appearance. The front side of the ceramic on each lamp is slightly textured (see photos). The lamps both have standard on/off rotary knob switches for functionality located at the socket. Both sockets still retain original UL labels attached to them (see photo). No shades present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own. For your reference, we have included a catalogue page which a very kind collector was generous enough to furnish us with.
MEASUREMENTS: Each lamps stands approx. 22" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 16" high. The ceramic portion of the base, including the round black rectangular ceramic base at the very bottom, is approx. 10.5" tall x 9.5" wide (at the widest point) x 3.75 deep (at the deepest point). The red atomic balls are approx. 1.75" round.
CONDITION: Both lamps are in good condition. One lamp has a small shallow surface chip in the ceramic where the brass rod goes between the top and bottom of the lamp (see photo). It is on the underside of the upper curvature, so it is not seen unless you turn the lamp over and are looking for it. It definitely does not interfere with the display, but it is there and is being mentioned for accuracy. The only other minor issue is that one of the vertical brass rods is a little loose, so it needs to be tightened from the underside of the lamp. Aside from that, there clean and good to go - no other chips cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring appear to be original to the lamps. The plug tips show a little wear, but they appear to be fine. We would suggest replacing them. The actual wire is free from frays, splits, brittle and exposed areas. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
