ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a tripod lamp that we've never come across before. The framework of the lamp is iron, and a little way up from the base is a round ring that accommodates a white ceramic planter. Circa '50s. The base also contains a brass atomic ball from which the three upright iron cylindrical legs travel downwards to the base. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch located at the socket for functionality. We are uncertain as to the designer / maker - there are no labels or tags present. It will be left up to the purchaser to provide their own shade is there currently isn't one present.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 33" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial). The distance from the bottom of the legs to the light socket is approx. 24.5" high. The top of the ceramic planter rests about 9.75" high from the bottom of the lamp. The distance between each of the legs is approx. 8.25". The round brass atomic ball just beneath the light socket is approx. 2.5" round, and each of the brass balls attached at the end of the legs is approx. 1" in diameter. The ceramic planter is approx. 4" tall x 3" in diameter (measured across the rim of the opening).
CONDITION: The lamp is in great shape - there are no breaks, chips, dents, dings, cracks, repairs, etc. The brass shows patination from age - we have not attempted to clean or polish it in any manner. The electrical wiring is old, and appears to be original to the lamp - there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. While it does work perfectly fine, we'd recommend replacing it for safety. We always suggest having vintage lighting examined by a professional electrician prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
