Vintage Orb / Eyeball Desk Lamp Black Chrome Metal Hamilton Ind. Mid Century MCM

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a sleek vintage adjustable metal orb / eyeball desk lamp (Model H7) produced for Hamilton Industries (Chicago). Made in Japan. The lamp features an adjustable metal orb shade that can be adjusted up or down on the vertical rod that it is attached to, and then set in place with the small lever on the back side of the shade (see photos). The shade itself can also rotate on its axis at the attachment point, both giving the lamp multiple configurations. The lamp has an on/off switch that is located on the black plate atop the round base. The lamp is marked on the underside of the base (see photos).

NOTE: The existing bulb, which does work, will be included. It is not a new bulb, but it seems to have some life left in it.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 15.5" tall x 7" deep x 5" wide. The round orb shade is approx. 5" round, and the base is also approx. 5" in diameter.

CONDITION: With the exception of a minor superficial scratch mark to the black paint along the side of the shade (it can very easily be touched up... we just left it alone is it didn't bother us), the lamp is in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, dents, dings, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. The lever used to hold in the orb shade in place is in perfect functional order, and it holds its position nicely. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. The electrical wiring is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc, and it looks to be original to the lamp. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked prior to long-term use.
