ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage metal / wire pineapple lamp designed by Andree Ferris and Reta Schacknove for Horo-Lite (Brooklyn, NY). Circa '60s. The pineapple is constructed of wire and metal, while the shade is a cloth-like material with what appears to be a cardboard lining on the inside. The lamp has its original UL sticker on the underside of the base, and it is stamped Horo-Lite Brooklyn, NY (see photo). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch located at the socket. When lit, the lamp casts very nice shadows of the pineapple. It's a great lamp that is suitable for all interior settings!
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamps stands approx. 33" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 26" high. The pineapple measures approx. 20" high x 16" wide x 16" deep. The shade measures approx. 14" tall x 17" in diameter (top) x 20" in diameter (bottom).
CONDITION: Very good condition. The metal pineapple base has minor color loss in in spots, but nothing objectionable. There are no dents, dings, separations, rust, oxidation, repairs, etc. The shade is in good shape. There are some ripples in the inner and outer material (see photo); however, they are more visible on the inside lining (see photos). The shade is free from rips, holes, tears, stains, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is free from damage - there are no frays, splits or exposed areas on the wiring. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly caution to have the wiring inspected by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
PLEASE NOTE: The lamp, together with the shade, is VERY LARGE, hence the shipping rate. We were told the shade was original to the lamp when it was purchased. If you want to outfit the base with your own shade and forego the shipping of just the shade, it will greatly cut down on the cost of shipping - please let us know prior to making payment.
