ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fun vintage table lamp that dates back to the '60s. Materials: Chalkware, Wood. The lamp features a slightly raised diamond pattern running around the surface of the base. The diamonds are smooth in appearance, while the background that they emerge from is textured (see photos). Colors: Turquoise, Coral and Gold against a beige background. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. The chalkware portion of the base rests atop a brass metal base. The lamp does not appear to be signed, nor are there any labels visibly present. No shade -present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own. It's in fully working order, and is suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: With the harp attached, the lamp stands a wonderful 32.25" tall. The distance from the bottom of the brass metal base to the light socket is approx. 25.5" high. The distance from the bottom of the lamp to the top of the wooden neck is approx. 23" tall. The lamp base is 23" tall x 5" wide x 5" deep. The round metal base measures approx. 5" in diameter.
CONDITION: Given its age, we'd say the lamp is in relatively good condition. There are some minor imperfections which we'll mention here now. Starting from the top of the lamp and working our way downward, the wooden neck appears to be in very good condition with no issues to report. The metal ring the is directly beneath the wooden neck shows signs of wear and color loss (see photos). It can easily be touched up or just left alone - in our opinion, it isn't a deal breaker. There is also a small section where a thin amount of the chalkware that appears to have chipped away over time. Again, this isn't too bad and can pretty much be left alone, or easily filled in. It's also off to the side, so you don't directly see it when viewing the lamp straight on. Moving down to the chalkware portion of the base, it is for the most part in good shape. There is age-related wear, some light color fading on the diamonds, some superficial, yet stable, crack marks to the paint, etc. (see photos) - nothing too bad. The lamp could benefit from a good cleaning as well - we just left them in the condition in which they were acquired. The electrical wiring is in good condition and looks to be original to the lamp - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamp is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
