Vintage 50s Dual Fiberglass Cone Adjustable Lamp Mid Century MCM Modern Lighting

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool vintage adjustable dual conical fiberglass shade desk lamp. Circa '50s / '60s. The lamp features two fiberglass cone shades that are a medium beige color. Each shade is attached to a brass extension rod. The shades are able to rotate left and right, as well as up and down at their attachment points. The arms also have the ability to move back and forth, and they can rotate 360 degrees at their bottom attachment points. As you can see from the photos, there are endless configurations in positioning this lamp which give it many different appearances. Each shade has its own on/off rotary knob switch, so the sockets can be controlled independently of one another. The lamp is marked with the name SWITT encircled, and it reads patent pending (see photo).

MEASUREMENTS: With both arms in their full upright vertical position, and both shades pointed in the downward direction, the lamp measures approx. 19" tall x 10.5" wide. Each of the fiberglass cone shades measures approx. 7.5" tall x 5" in diameter (measured at the bottom opening). The black iron H-shaped base measures approx. 6.75" wide x 5" deep x 1" in height.

CONDITION: The lamp is in very good condition. There is some minor cosmetic wear in the form of light tarnishing / discoloration to the bottom of the brass cylinder that is attached just above the iron base at the center (photos) - it is nominal, but being mentioned for accuracy. Aside from that, the lamp is in great shape - no breaks, bends cracks, repairs, burn marks, scratches, etc. The arms and shades hold their positions without their being any slippage. The electrical wiring is in good condition and looks to be original to the lamp - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
