Vintage MCM Atomic Symbol Plaster Table Lamp Mid Century Modern 1950s Lighting

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage plaster atomic lamp from the 1950s. Materials: Plaster (it is way too heavy for it to be chalkware). Color: Yellow. No shade present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own. We are uncertain as to the manufacturer - there are no labels or tags present.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp measures approx. 29" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 8" wide (at its widest point). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 20" high. The plaster atomic symbol measures approx. 15.75" tall x 8" wide x 4.75" deep (measured at the bottom of the base). The lamp is heavy - it weighs approx. 12.9 lbs.

CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in good condition, but does have some cosmetic wear which we'll mention here. First off, there are some scratches / scuffs to the base (see photos). We think a fresh coat of paint is all you'll need to conceal them. Second, there is a small pea-sized shallow chip to the plaster at the underside of the base (again, see photo). It's at the bottom, so it is not readily visible unless you are looking for it. Can easily be filled in, or just left alone - it does not affect anything. Next, the rotary knob switch that is used to turn the lamp on/off is a little loose - we'd recommend replacing it. Lastly, the electrical wiring is old and not that long. While the lamp is fully functional, we'd probably recommend replacing it for something longer as well. The plug tip looks to have been replaced somewhere in the lamp's life cycle. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
