Vintage MCM Fiberglass Double Tier Lamp Shade Mid Century Modern Lighting 1950s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage double-tier fiberglass lamp shade. Circa '50s. Pattern: Random scattered filaments. Color: The shade is a beige color, and scattered throughout are random linear gold tinsel-like filaments, and random brown filaments (see photos). The upper of the two tiers is the larger tier on this shade, while the lower tier is smaller. Uncertain as to the maker - unmarked.

MEASUREMENTS: The shade measures approx. 8" tall. The larger, upper tier is approx. 18" in diameter, while the smaller, lower tier is approx. 15" in diameter.

CONDITION: The shade appears to be in very good condition. There are a few minor cosmetic things worth mentioning. First, there is one compromised hole in fiberglass where the lacing goes through. When looking directly at the shade, it is off to the right side, so it isn't even seen when looking at the shade head-on. Next mention - there is one small break in the lacing on the larger upper-tier (lower ring) that is off to the back. It isn't seen, and doesn't particularly interfere with the structural integrity of the shade - we're solely mention it for accuracy. It can easily be re-laced, if desired. Last mention - some of the lacing was replaced at one point in time. It looks as though the original lacing was a greenish color, or perhaps it turned that color from age. The replacement lacing appears to be black. All-in-all, the shade displays nicely - no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. This shade is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
