Vintage MCM Black Metal Wheeler Sight Light Cantilever Lamp Mid Century Modern

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage UFO / Saucer desk lamp designed by M.G. Wheeler for Sight Light Corporation. Circa '50s. Materials: Metal. Colors: Black. The shade is attached to an extension arm that stems for the square black metal base to the bottom center of the shade just belong the light socket. The original labels are somewhat intact on the underside of the saucer shade (see photo).

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 13" tall x 23" wide (measured from the edge of the shade to the furthest edge of the square base). The saucer shade is approx. 12" in diameter. The square base is approx. 9.5" on all sides. The swiveling cantilever arm extends approx. 13" from the base to the shade.

CONDITION: The lamp is in good, all-original vintage condition. The shade shows a few tiny color loss spots along the edge only (see photos). There is also one very tiny dimple along the top surface of the shade (again, see photos). The brass shows typical patination that comes with age. The swivel arm works perfectly with no issues. The electrical wiring is in good shape and appears to be original to the lamp - no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle wires. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
