ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for a vintage Majestic table lamp complete with its two original cylindrical fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. The lamp consists of curvy brass tubing, and a round wooden ebony accent disc midway up the lamp body. The shades are fiberglass, and they're beige in color with overlapping gold and white painted on designs that resemble clovers or clouds. The lamp has an on/off rotary knob switch positioned at the front center of the ebony base, and it allows for three-way functionality: either of the shades can light up independently of the other, or both can be set to illuminate at the same time. The lamp still has a tiny sliver of its original Majestic label on the underside of the base, as well as some green coloration from the felt that the company used.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 28.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the uppermost shade) x 14" wide x 6" deep. Each of the two fiberglass shades measures approx. 12" tall x 6" in diameter. The elongated wooden oval base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 12" wide x 5.5" deep x 1.25" high. The round ebony accent piece midway up the lamp body measures approx. 1.5" in diameter.
CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in very good vintage condition. The top surface of the wooden base at the very bottom of the lamp shows some surface wear, but nothing terribly objectionable in our opinion (see photos). The brass is in great shape - no rust, oxidation, breaks, bends, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shades are in great shape - no burns, rips, holes, tears, stains, repairs, etc. They still retain their original lacing. They could use a gentle cleaning, but they do display nicely as they are in their current state. We have not cleaned the lamp in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. The electrical wiring is in nice shape, and the lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
