Sorry, this item has sold.

Item: Rare and unusual ceramic lamp and planter combo that dates back to the 1950s. The ceramic portion is black and white, and has a jagged appearance. Almost looks like something you'd expect to see growing out in the dessert. The lamp has two light sources - one at the top, and one at the rear side behind the planter portion which is at the front of the lamp. The lamp on/off rotary knob is located by the primary light socket, and it provides for 3-way functionality - either one or the other of the two sockets can be lit independently of one another, or a third turn of the knob will allow the both to illuminate at the same time. Unmarked insofar as we've been able to detect.

Measurements: The distance from the bottom of the base to the top of the hard where the finial should be is approx. 22.5" high. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 15" high. The ceramic portion of the lamp alone measures approx. 11" tall x 10" wide x 8.75" deep.

Condition: Overall, the lamp is in very good condition - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The area at the front which is supposed to be used as a planter needs some cleaning, but is otherwise in good condition. There is no shade present - that'll be left up to the winning purchaser to provide. Also, while there is a harp, there is no finial present - again, that'll be left up to the purchaser to provide - an inexpensive purchase that any lighting or hardware store should readily have available. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting and electronics, we'd recommend having it checked by a licensed electrician prior to long term use, just to be safe. Displays very well, and is ready for a new home!
