Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage ceramic table lamp with accompanying shade. Dates back to the 50s, and has an abstract animal motif on the front of the base. While there are no labels or manufacturer's marks present, we believe the lamp was manufactured by Gonder. The shade is not original to the lamp, but it does compliment the base nicely - it is of a heavy cloth material. There is an on/off key-shaped switch located at the socket which is used to turn the lamp on and off - it reads "Leviton" on it.
Measurements: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 23" tall. The ceramic base measures approx. 12.75" wide x 5.5" deep x 10.25" tall The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 15" tall. The lamp shade measures approx. 10" tall x 16" wide x 9" deep.
Condition: Overall, the lamp is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. to the base. The shade is newer and appears to be in good condition as well. There is a small area on the front of the base where it looks like the paint is about to flake (see close-up photos). It can be touched up quite easily, if desired, or just left alone as we did - we'll leave that up to the winning purchaser to decide on. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it's in great shape - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we strongly recommend having the wiring check by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. The original green felt is still attached to the bottom, but it is coming loose. Ready for a new home!
