Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage Gerald Thurston for Lightolier adjustable / articulating floor lamp. Circa '60s. The lamp is constructed of brass and metal. The saucer-shaped shade is attached to an extension arm. The lamp height can be adjusted, as well as the overall direction and height of the shade. The lamp still retains its original Underwriter Laboratories blue label on the inside of the shade (see photo).
Measurements: The lamp is fully adjustable. It can stand as low as 42" high, or if you fully extend the brass upright rod, it can stand as high as 52" tall. The round saucer shades has a diameter of approx. 12.5" round. The shade is attached to a brass arm that extends approx. 13" outward. The round metal base measures approx. 10" in diameter.
Condition: While the lamp is in good condition, it does have some minor issues that are worth mentioning. The shade shows a very shallow indentation (see photo), as well as some light paint loss here and there - we didn't attempt to do anything to try to spruce the shade up - it's in the exact condition in which it was acquired. The perforated top looks like there was probably some sort of small finial attached - again, this is how we got the lamp. It does not affect the structural integrity whatsoever, but we are mentioning it here. The brass upright arm shows a little bit of wear that is mainly commensurate with age and use (adjusting the lamp height up and down). The round black base has a few small superficial dents and some color loss (again, please see photos). The lamp is structurally very solid, and fully operational with no problems to report. As with all vintage lighting and electronics, we always recommend having it checked by a licensed professional prior to long term use.
