Vintage 60s Tiki Tribal Mask Oil Painting Wall Hanging Mid Century Modern Atomic Era

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an unusual vintage oil painting done on canvas framed inside of a black painted wooden frame. Circa '60s. Theme: Tiki or Tribal mask in the foreground, and in the background there appears to be portions of three painted figures - one in pink, one in blue and one in yellow (see photos). We are not sure if the painting was done deliberately to look like that, or if the artist just decided to paint over another painting that was done on the canvas at the time. Either way, it's very striking. While we cannot make out the signature, the painting is signed in yellow paint, and is dated '61 (see photos). There is a wire hanging mechanism on the back side for hanging, so it is ready for display.

Measurements: Including the frame, approx. 26.5" tall x 20.5" wide.

Condition: Good vintage condition with minor wear commensurate with age. There are a few. small areas where some of the paint has chipped from the canvas, and there is also a scratch mark in the paint as well (see photos). These areas can either be touched up or left alone - when hanging on a wall, they don't come across as that noticeable, but they are there and we are mentioning them for accuracy. Aside from that, not rips, holes, tears, repairs, etc. to the canvas. The wooden frame is old and shows age appropriate wear. The canvas is being kept in place inside the frame with some clear adhesive tape along the back four sides (see photo). This can easily be remedied with some nails and removing the tape.
