RESERVED FOR DON Vintage 60s Triennial Metal Brass Atomic Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Thurston Lightolier As Is

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice atomic era vintage triennial floor lamp by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. Circa '60s. Colors: Black, Gold. The lamp consists of three fully adjustable brass plated lamp shades, each with its own on/off rotary knob switch at the top of the shade, thus allowing each socket to function independently of the others. Each shade also still has its original snap-in metal grill that goes over the opening of the shade (see photos). The lamp is unmarked insofar as we've been able to detect.

Measurements: The lamp stands approx. 60.5" tall (to the top of the uppermost shade with the shade positioned in the downward position. The middle shade is approx. 52.5" high (positioned downward facing), and the lowest shade is approx. 45.5" high (positioned downward facing). Each of the shade is approx. 7.75" tall x 7.5" in diameter (measured at the opening). The round metal base at the bottom measures approx. 11.75" in diameter.

Condition: While structurally solid, the lamp does have cosmetic condition issues worth mentioning. While it displays well and functions as it should, the lamp is a good candidate for refinishing, in our opinion. Each of the three shades shows scattered color loss / scratches / general tarnishing. There are no dents or dings. We feel with a little time and tlc, they could be refurbished to look really nice. We chose to leave them in the condition in which they were acquired. The insides of the shades also show some light scratching, namely in the areas where the grill inserts come into contact with the inner shade (please see photos). The pivoting mechanisms on the shades work well, but could use a little tightening. The round base is free from dents, dings, etc. There is some light spotting that should clean off with a little effort. The electrical wiring appears to be in good, original condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, or would like additional photos, please ask and we'll be happy to address your queries.
