Vintage 50s Universal Statuary Asian Woman Chalkware Lamp Mid Century Modern

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fun vintage Universal Statuary of Chicago chalkware table lamp. Circa '50s. Theme: Asian Woman. The lamp is stamped on the reverse side close to the base: Copyright Universal Statuary of Chicago, 1958, S539 (see photos). The lamp does not come with a shade - that'll be left up to the purchaser to provide.

Measurements: Approx. 38.5" tall (measured from the bottom the base to the top of the finial). The figure, excluding the round brass base, measures approx. 24" tall. The round brass base has a diameter of approx. 7".

Condition: The lamp is in decent condition for its age, but it does have some cosmetic flaws worth mentioning. First off there is a repair to the frond leaf in her hand. Whoever repaired it, tried to make it look decent, but in our opinion, it could be made to look much better with a little tlc. They added what appears to be a small amount of gold glitter to try to conceal it (see photos). Again, it can probably be made to look better with a minimal amount of effort. There is also another small repair to the left side of her head dress when looking at her. Again, a small amount of gold glitter was used to help conceal it. Aside from that, there do not appear to be any other significant issues with lamp. The round brass base shows some signs of tarnishing (see photos). The lamp could probably also benefit from a gentle cleaning - we left it in the condition in which it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to have been replaced, and it is in good condition - no splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in complete, fully functioning, working condition.
