RESERVED FOR NICOLA - Vintage William Mohr Cartoon Illustration Mid Century New York Times Advertising

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage ink drawing on paper by late artist, William "Bill" Mohr. Mr. Mohr worked as an advertising artist for the New York Times. This particular illustration done in ink depicts a cartoon-like turtle in its shell flanked by alligators surrounding it. It is framed in a wooden frame behind glass, and it is signed by artist (see photos).

Measurements: Including the frame, approx. 20.25" wide x 24" tall. The visible artwork measures approx. 12.5" wide x 15.5" tall.

Condition: The artwork is in decent condition, but not perfect. There is a visible crease along the upper left side of the paper, as well as a small hole at the top center. The paper shows some darkening along the top side of the paper (see photos) - we are uncertain as to whether or not this was intentional or not, but it is there. If we were to keep the artwork, we'd probably resize it a little to hide the imperfections. Certainly if you were to use matting to border the illustration, it would hide most of it. The frame is old, and as such, it shows signs of wear commensurate with age and handling - it is stable. The current matting appears to be a little discolored (see photos). There is a wire hanging mechanism attached to the back side for hanging / display purposes. Overall displays well and is ready for a new home!
