Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice vintage table lamp by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. Circa '60s. The base consists of two ceramic parts that are separated by a brass neck. The ceramic part is beige in color, with seed-shaped recesses that are black. The lamp has a metal pull chain switch, and it provides the lamp with 3-way functionality... either one bulb can be lit, or with a second pull of the chain two bulbs, and then a third pull all three bulbs. The lamp takes standard sized bulbs (not included). No shade present - that'll be left up to the purchaser to provide. Unmarked.
Measurements: Approx. 27.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the light sockets) x 6" wide (at its widest point) x 6" deep (at its deepest point). The round brass base measures approx. 6.75" in diameter.
Condition: Given its age, we'd say it's in good condition. There are some minor cosmetic flaws that we'll mention here. First off, there are some small areas of discoloration to the beige paint - we have not attempted to clean it in any way, and are uncertain if it'll come clean. In our opinion, it doesn't particularly detract, but we are mentioning it for accuracy (see photos). Next, there are two small shallow chips along the neck of the upper ceramic piece (again, see photos). They can probably be repaired, or just left alone - we left it in the condition in which it was acquired. Lastly, there is one small ding on the brass that separates the two ceramic pieces - it was difficult to photograph, but it is there. With a little TLC, it can be gussied up a bit, but it is completely presentable as it is. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in fine shape - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. There is an old piece of green felt still attached to the underside of the lamp base. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
